NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – The Linfield women's golf team placed seventh at the NWC Fall Classic, led by freshman
Ashlyn Yorimoto, at Pumkin Ridge's Ghost Creek Golf Course.
The Wildcats finished the tournament at 168-over, posting a 369 in Saturday's opening round before improving by two strokes with a 367 total on Sunday. George Fox captured the team title at 61-over, while Whitman and Pacific rounded out the top three.
The Bruins Ashlyn Johnson claimed medalist honors with a two-day total of 152 (+10).
Ashlyn Yorimoto led Linfield, tying for 15th at 26-over. Yorimoto opened with an 83 before carding an 85 in the final round. She began Round 1 with a 3-over 38 on the back nine, before closing the tournament with nine-hole totals of 45, 42, and 43. Yorimoto's 15th-place finish is the best by a Wildcat individual in an NWC event since Tori Schuller placed 15th at the 2023 NWC Championship.
Sophia Hamilton finished 27th at 41-over, making a substantial improvement between rounds. After opening with a 98, Hamilton cut 13 strokes off her score with an 85 on Sunday. Her final round was highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 11th as she played the back nine in 6-over 41.
Freshman Lucille Ugaldea placed 32nd at 50-over after rounds of 91 and 101. Her opening round included a birdie on the par-5 eighth, helping her card a 42 on her second nine of the round. She followed with a 101 in the final round.
Breleigh Garcia tied for 33rd at 51-over, recording rounds of 97 and 96. Garcia started the tournament with a birdie on the par-4 second and improved by one stroke in Round 2, which included a par on the par-3 16th.
Kara Heater rounded out the Linfield lineup in 37th at 61-over. Heater opened with a 101 before posting a 102 in the second round. She played the back nine in 47 during Round 1 and closed the tournament with a 48 on the back nine Sunday.

The Wildcats travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, to compete in the Clovernook Women's Invitational hosted by Wittenburg next Monday and Tuesday at Clovernook Country Club.
