SPOKANE, Wash. --- Linfield men's and women's track & field continued their indoor season on Saturday at Northwest Conference rival Whitworth for the Inland Northwest Invite. A pair of freshman Wildcats joined by Hudson Holzhauer who broke his own record in the men's weight throw for a third time this season.

Freshman Isabella Grutsch got Linfield started early in the morning with the women's 60-meter hurdles. In the prelims, Grutsch carded a 9.09-second time to earn a bid into the finals as the second-best time by a Division III athlete in the meet. In the finals, Grutsch finished fourth at 9.14-seconds, still just one of two DIII athletes to make the finals.

In the field events, junior Shyson Cachuela recorded a PR as he finished 12th in the men's shot put with a mark of 43' 9.75". Grutsch also competed in the women's long jump and triple jump events, earning top-ten finishes in each; 16' 5.25" in the long jump (ninth) and 34' 1.5" in the triple jump (fifth). Fellow freshman Baylie Thompson finished 14th in the long jump with a mark of 15' 9".

Freshman Sage Cramp led the way in the women's pole vault later in the day, earning a tie for third eclipsing over 11' 3.5". Continuing to improve week after week. Hudson Holzhauer broke his own record in the men's weight throw for the third time this season, tossing a best of 56' 8.5". The new record also ranks Holzhauer No. 36 in Division III this season.

James Bethune had another strong showing for a first-year Wildcat on Saturday, earning a personal best and finishing second in the men's triple jump at 43' 4.25". Bethune finished as the top athlete from a Division III institution in the event.

Junior Jayden Taylor closed out the meet for the Wildcats with a personal best time in the women's 3000-meter run, placing tenth with a time of 11:03.99.

The Wildcats return to Whitworth in a pair of weeks for the Whitworth Invitational over the course of two days in Spokane.
