St. Cloud, Minn. --- Linfield men's golf continued the Fall season for a second-straight week of competition, finishing 12
th as team amongst the 19-team field. Junior
Douglas Bailey led the Wildcats in both rounds, firing a total of 147 (+3) to earn 20
th-place.
The tournament was split between two courses, the first at St. Cloud Country Club, and the final at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course. Bailey opened up the tournament with a one-under 35 on the back nine at SCCC, before closing with a 37 to shoot an even-par 72. Just one birdie in the final round at BRGC held the junior to a three-over 75, enough to earn the top-20 finish.
Ryder Ng began his sophomore campaign with a 68 in round one last weekend at the Whitworth Fall Invitational, starting this weekend with an opening-round 74. Ng's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five fourth hole at SCCC. He closed the tournament with a 78, bouncing back from a slow start, going one-under over his final three holes to earn 43
rd.
Brody Landaker kept his strong play going, coming off of a final round 68 last weekend. Landaker started the second tournament of his career with a 74, but a final round 80 at Blackberry Ridge dropped the freshman to 51
st for the weekend.
Freshman
Timothy Morach saw his first action of his career on the starting roster, firing a pair of 78's in each round to take 61
st in his first varsity collegiate tournament. Senior
Kellen Hudson rounded out the 'Cats lineup, finishing in 68
thwith rounds of 77 and 80.
The team finished in 12
th with rounds of 297 and 311 (+32). Carleton claimed the individual and team titles, thanks rounds of five-under and two-under par as a team. Linfield ranked sixth in the event in pars with 105, and seventh-best on the par-five's with a team total of five-under. Ng finished tied for fifth in par-five scoring, averaging under par for a four-under total on those respective holes.
The 'Cats hit the course once again in just over a week, heading to DuPont, Washington, for the Pacific Lutheran Invitational at the Home Course.
