| By:
Sophomore Ryder Ng
SPOKANE, Wash. --- Linfield men's golf teed off in their Fall season opener over the weekend at Indian Canyon Country Club in the Whitworth Fall Invitational, as freshman Brody Landaker and sophomore Ryder Ng led the way behind a pair of three-under 68's.

Linfield was paced in the opening round by senior Ryder Ng, who carded a three-under-par 68. Ng's round featured four birdies, including a pair on the par-5 second and par-4 17th, as he posted one of the lowest scores in the field.

Behind Ng, the Wildcats got consistent play from Brody Landaker and Douglas Bailey, who each shot 75. Emerson Storer added a 74, highlighted by birdies on holes 17 and 18. Kellen Hudson rounded out the scoring with a 76.

As a group, Linfield posted a 292 in round one, placing them fourth after round one.

On day two, it was Landaker who stole the spotlight. The sophomore fired a three-under 68, matching Ng for the lowest Wildcat score in the tournament, and vaulted into the top-10 individually at one-over (7th) through 36 holes. Landaker caught fire early, birdieing the second, third, and sixth holes, and carried that momentum to a 32 on the front nine.

Storer, Bailey, and Hudson each carded a 75 in round two, rounding out the team score on day two for Linfield. Storer rolled in a birdie at the par-five 18th to highlight his round. Bailey stayed steady with pars across much of the back nine. Storer earned 17th, Bailey finished 19th, and Hudson took 22nd for the tournament. Ng rounded out the lineup in the final round, shooting a 78 to finish tied for 10th

Linfield tallied a 293 in the final round, keeping them firmly in fourth place behind Whitworth, Willamette, and Willamette's B team.

On the "B" team for Linfield, Timothy Morach led the way in round one, shooting a 76, then closing the tournament with another 76 to take 26th individually. Anthony Angelastro followed an opening-round 80 with a 74 to move up to 28th-place on the weekend. Owen Irving also improved on a round one 79, shooting a 76 on Monday to earn 30th place. Zach Netter and Emmett Cox were consistent, each firing a 78 and 79 over the two rounds to tie for 33rd place.

The 'Cats hit the links once again next weekend, traveling to St. Cloud, Minnesota, for the Saint John's Fall Invitational. The team will compete at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club and St. Cloud Country Club.
