After strong performances in the NWC Championship tournament, Linfield's
Douglas Bailey,
Ryder Ng and Zach LaPlaca have been named to the All-Northwest Conference teams and Ng has also been named the conference's Rookie of the Year as announced by the conference in a release Thursday afternoon.
Â
Bailey and Ng were selected to the first team while LaPlaca was voted onto the second team. This is the second selection of Bailey's career after being selected a season ago.
Â
With a playoff win to secure the individual win at the NWC Championship, Bailey cemented himself in the Linfield record books as the first individual winner for the Wildcats since 2013.
Â
Ng finished one of the most impressive freshman seasons in recent Northwest Conference history. The Hilo, Hawaii native placed eighth in the NWC Fall Classic at one-under-par and tied for third in the NWC Championship to secure the Rookie of the Year award.
Â
LaPlaca held the lead after day one at the NWC Championship and put together a solid day two but dropped two spots to tie with Ng for third place. He finishes his junior season with a win in the George Fox Invitational and a fourth place finish in the Tall Timbers Invitational.
Â
As a team, the Wildcats dominated the NWC Championship, coming out on top by 16 strokes and showed a solid foundation to build on next season.
