In a release published Monday afternoon, the NWC announced Linfield's Savannah Irwin as the Women's Lacrosse Student-Athlete of the Week recipient. This is the first such award of the junior's career.
 
The Wildcats played one match this week in which they dominated Puget Sound, 18-3. Irwin played a large part in the lopsided result as she found the back of the net five times while also logging an assist. On top of her impressive offensive performance, she wreaked havoc on the defensive end as well, causing two turnovers and grabbing four ground balls. The Bend, Ore. native looks to keep the momentum rolling this week as the Wildcats prepare for matches against Berry and Pacific Lutheran.
 
Irwin is majoring in psychology while also working toward an education minor during her time at Linfield.
