MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- Linfield men's wrestling competed in their first dual of the season against the Pacific Boxers on Friday evening inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium, winning each match to dominate; 53-0.
Â
Freshman
Duke Wentzel opening the night at 125-pounds, trailing 7-6 entering the third period, but found his stride in the third. A reversal, near fall, and a riding-time point gave him the 13-7 decision over his opponent, and three-points for the team. Linfield led 30-0 to begin the match, due to five forfeited matches by the Boxers.Â
Â
Senior, at 133-pounds,
Jacob Moore also trailed for the majority of the match, behind 8-5 to start the third, choosing to take the bottom. Moore escaped and earned another takedown to narrowly win by a 9-8 decision following an overturned call by the referees to end the match.Â

Freshman
Damon Gasilos made his home debut as well, and made it memorable, dominating his opponent early to win by technical fall with less-than 30-seconds remaining in the first period, 17-2. Gasilos had three takedowns in the 157-pound match, also adding two near falls in his shortened bout. Freshman
Draven Marsh let a quick 7-0 lead slip away, later trailing 8-7 after the first period. Although he was still behind in the second period, he pinned his opponent following a reversal, helping add six-points to the teams total due to his comeback.Â
Â
Lucien Lefebvre matched with a pin of his own, a quick match that last only 1:56 in the 174-pound match. The senior earned a takedown and was leading 3-2 prior to the fall. Lefebvre's pin sealed a dominant 53-0 team win for the 'Cats in their dual-meet debut at home. Â
