TACOMA, Wash. – Linfield is still searching for its first Northwest Conference win of the 2024 season after Saturday night's 3-0 loss to Puget Sound at the Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Wildcats started off hot in the first set, jumping to a 9-3 lead before relinquishing a 9-1 Loggers run to end the set 25-17.
The second set was all Loggers as they jumped out to an early lead and pulled away to win the set 25-14.
The final set proved to be the most competitive of the match featuring a back-and forth battle before Puget Sound escaped 26-24.
Araeya Watanabe led the Linfield attack with 13 kills and
Nora Myre added six. Watanabe and Myre also contributed 10 digs to the effort while
Paige Richards notched 13 to lead the Wildcats.
Madison Millard bolstered the defense with four blocks.
Puget Sound was steered by Mackenzie Leith who posted 13 kills and Erin Fagan with six kills and nine digs. Samantha Keightley anchored the Loggers defense with 16 digs.
