Linfield starts season with impressive win

Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – Friday's match got off to a quick start when Bushnell's Michael Liyengo scored a goal just 55 seconds into the match.  However, Linfield's defense settled in and didn't allow another goal to secure a 4-1 victory in the season opener.

E.J. Sablan got the scoring started for the Wildcats in the first half off an assist from senior Sid Kosaris. Kosaris saw some success of his own later in the half as he netted a goal just before halftime.

Just after halftime, Sablan scored his second goal of the night, and Reece Gaines put the game away with the Wildcats' fourth and final goal.

On the defensive side, Linfield's Jacob Toves logged all 90 minutes as goalkeeper and recorded one save.

For the Beacons, Jace Meyer totaled 90 minutes as goalkeeper and saved one shot.
