Gibb’s career night lifts ‘Cats over Bruins

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Senior Reece Gibb seemingly saved the best for last as he tallied a new career high of 27 points in Linfield's 93-81 win over county rival George Fox at Ted Wilson Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
 
Jackson Dupree finished with 18 points while Joshua Ryan also totaled double figures with 12. Dupree and Gibb tied for the game-high with eight rebounds each with Ryan posting a game-high seven assists. Linfield (8-16, 3-12 NWC) shot 53 percent on 65 attempts and knocked down 11-24 shots from behind the arc. The Wildcats did not record a turnover in the second half and outscored the Bruins 46-30 in bench points
 
The Bruins had six players finish in double figures with James Moore pacing the scoring with 15 points. Momo Stokes and Charlie Powers each totaled 12 with Nick Greenwood and Samuel Stewart IV each adding 11. George Fox (14-10, 7-8 NWC) shot 45 percent from the field on 59 attempts and made 11-30 threes.
 
The three-ball highlighted the first half. Both teams combined to shoot 32 attempts and convert a total of 14. Ryan's 10 points and Gibb's seven led the Wildcats to a 40-37 halftime lead. Linfield led by as much as 12 in the first 20 minutes and shot 47 percent from the field and 46 percent from three.
 
Gibb and Dupree combined for 34 points in the second half, helping Linfield open up a comfortable lead. In the final five and a half minutes, the Wildcats outscored the Bruins 25-12 and made 9-11 free throw attempts. The 'Cats scored 90 points or more for the third time this season and secured their eighth straight home victory over the Bruins.
