Wildcats finish season against Bruins, Boxers

THE RECORDS
Linfield lost both road contests to Whitworth 73-66 and Whitman 82-52 last week. The 'Cats now shift their focus to the season's final week with George Fox (14-9, 7-7 NWC) coming to Ted Wilson Gymnasium on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Before closing the season at Pacific (13-10, 7-7 NWC) on Saturday at 6 p.m.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats surrender the third least amount of points per game in the conference at 73.5 while averaging 68.1 points on offense. Cade Collins (10.1) and Chase Bennett (9.7) lead the Wildcats in points per game. Jackson Dupree leads the NWC in rebounds per game (8.5) and total rebounds (186). Jack Greenwood (2.4), Dupree (2.3) and Bennett (2.1) rank among the conference leaders in assists per game. On defense, Garrett Callsen ranks second in the conference in total blocks (25) and averages over one per game.

The Bruins average the second most points per game at 86.6 and give up 80.2 points to opponents. Momo Stokes (14.7) and James Moore (13.6) lead the George Fox scoring effort. Aiden Price is second in the NWC in field goal percentage, shooting over 60 percent. Stokes leads the Bruins in free throw percentage (84) and in assists per game at two. Defensively, Nick Greenwood ranks among the conference leaders in total steals (41).
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
Pacific averages 81.7 points per game while giving up 73.2 to opponents. The Boxers lead the conference in threes made per game at 9.3. Lucas Winkler leads Pacific in scoring at 16.4 points per game with Devin Fortune the next closest at 13.7. Fortune also ranks among the top three in the NWC in rebounds per game, averaging 6.9. Winkler sits second in the conference in assists per game with five and tops the NWC in steals per game at 2.8.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats lost the first matchup against the Bruins in Newberg 86-77. Linfield is 61-50 all-time against George Fox, including a 33-20 record at home. The 'Cats are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings against the Bruins and average nearly 84 points per game.
 
Linfield beat Pacific in the first meeting in McMinnville 64-59. The Wildcats are 75-39 all-time against the Boxers and are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. The 'Cats are looking for their first win in Forest Grove since the 2020-21 season.
