SALEM, Ore. –
Alex Oathout and
Saniyah Ayala were the top finishers, and
Leah Stednick set a new personal record in the women's race, highlighting the efforts of the Linfield Wildcats Saturday at the Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette University at Bush's Pasture Park.

The annual large-scale meet featured 276 men's competitors and 216 women's participants and involved an array of teams from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA and community college affiliations.

MEN
Oathout covered the eight-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 2.2 seconds, placing 92nd overall. Teammate
Devin Harrison was fewer than 30 seconds behind, placing 115th in 26:28.4.

Other Linfield finishers included
Conner Dooley, clocked 29:05.5 to place 229th.
Bradley Kiltow eased back into competition, returning from an illness that sidelined him from competition to place 238th in 29:29.6.
Levi Jones rounded out the Wildcat lineup, crossing the line 257th in 30:22.7.

WOMEN
On the other side of the ledger, Ayala completed the five-kilometer loop around Bush's Pasture Park in 21:35.8 to finish in 166th place. Stednick recorded a new personal best in the 5K distance, placing 172nd in 21:44.8. And
Liberty McElfatrick timed 24:15.4 to place 206th.

Linfield is idle next Saturday before returning to action Oct. 19 when the Wildcats host the George Oja Linfield Invitational at Oak Knoll Golf Course, located roughly halfway between
Salem and Rickreall on Highway 22.
