Wildcats ready for battle with Pioneers

THE RECORDS
Linfield (5-7-5, 3-7-3 NWC) sits in sixth place in the Northwest Conference standings after on 0-2 weekend that featured losses at Whitworth and Whitman. The Wildcats prevalied at home over the same two clubs earlier this fall, but was unable to complete season sweeps of either squad. Linfield now turns its attention to Lewis & Clark (4-9-2, 2-8-1 NWC), which which it battled to a scoreless draw last month in Portland. The Pioneers are two spots behind the Wildcats in the standings, tied for eighth place with Pacific.

LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
Defense has been a strong point for the Wildcats this season, conceding under one goal per match at .94, good for fifth place in the NWC. Junior standout Alexa Fritz has played a large role in the defensive performance, allowing just .8 goals per match from the goalkeeping position. Fritz boasts an impressive .803 save percentage and has six clean sheets on the season. Julia Alvarez guides Linfield offensively with team highs in goals at four and shots with 31. Senior division I transfer, Rae Gerking, is the only other Wildcat with multiple goals at two. Mia Curtaz has impressed with her distribution abilities, assisting on three goals this season while also recording six shots on target in her junior campaign.

LEWIS & CLARK AT A GLANCE
The Pioneers have proven to be the antithesis of the Wildcats, with a potent offense, and a struggling defense. They rank third in the conference in goals per match at 1.467 but are in last place in goals conceded with 2.00 per match. Lewis & Clark looks to buckle down its defense with Anna Ingadottir taking over goalkeeping duties. The junior from Iceland has 27 saves on the season and has a saver percentage of .600. Celeste Schreifels has been an elite scorer for the Pioneers with 10 goals in 2024 on 29 shots for an amazing .345 shot percentage. Carli Driskill and Sophia Gill are the only other two Pioneers with multiple goals at three and two, respectively.

SERIES HISTORY
Linfield holds a dominant lead on the all-time series 25-9-8 and a 15-3-3 record at home over the Pioneers.
