COOS BAY, Ore. – Short-handed Linfield squads dropped a men's dual and a women's dual Saturday night at Southwestern Oregon Community College – although the men's dual came down to the final second of the final match to determine the outcome. 
 
In the men's dual, the heavyweight bout was going to be a forfeit for Linfield. So the final contested match was going to be at 197, where Coos Bay-area native Divenson Willis was making a homecoming to face SWOCC's Dalton Reed. The team score was 22-21 in favor of the Lakers with that match remaining. 
 
Willis was trailing 7-5 with only a few seconds to go, when he used a switch from the bottom position to get what appeared to the tying reversal at the final buzzer. But the referee awarded him only one point for loss of control rather than a two-point reversal, and Reed held on for a 7-6 win. That cemented SWOCC's 25-21 dual win. 
 
On the women's side, Alice Rickett won by forfeit – her seventh straight win – and Ayana Medina pinned the Lakers' Christa Sindel in 29 seconds to notch Linfield's only two wins in a 29-10 SWOCC team win. 
 
The Coos Bay community college entered the duals ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA on the women's side and No. 18 on the men's side:
