WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? I chose Linfield University as it had the best combination of family dynamics with wrestling as well as pursuing my goals educationally. It felt like "home" the moment I stepped on campus.
WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? It Student-Athlete means to me that academics come first. I need to give 100% to my studies to have the privilege to be a part of the Linfield Wrestling family. That my wrestling family will help guide, lift, and motivate me as they all too are invested in my academic success, just as I am in theirs.
HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Being involved in sports created lifelong bonds with not only coaches but teammates as well. Coaches go above and beyond with ensuring their athletes can achieve their goals and milestones. Wrestling had helped me with working hard, not giving up, and being dedicated. Some of the best memories I have was when I wrestled.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? In 10 years, I see myself attending Graduate School with steps to becoming a pharmacist.
WHAT’S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN? Physics and Biopsychology. These two classes have shifted my perspective and angle on how I view somethings in life. The pure curiosity that I felt when taking these two courses was criminal. Not only did both of these courses teach me quality knowledge that will help reflect into my future life but it was also very enjoyable taking the classes. It will be no surprise to me, if I end up minoring in physics as well.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? It is and will always be my mother. The reason can be the most simplistic but yet the most powerful. That reason is solely because she is the strongest person that I know.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… For most people, I'm sure you can find a common response of, "I learned to be the best" or "I learned to focus hard" or something silly like that. The most important thing for me that I had learned over the years at Linfield, especially in the athletics, is the importance of family dynamics. What do you view your team as? I value my teammates like no other. Yes, of course, the wins are nice, but those only last at the moment, what was really the reward was creating that strong bond ship between brothers and sisters.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… My goals for the team are always do your best on and off the mat, excel in what excites you so that you may become your own masterpiece. As for me, well I guess I'm just here for the ride, I trust in my ability to get the things that I want in life, in a sense I'm pretty content I don't want many things. But the one goal I do have for myself, is to see my skills develop on a Olympic level for wrestling. That's pretty much it.
