Wildcats look toward Bruins, close week with Boxers

THE RECORDS
Linfield battled for all 40 minutes against Whitman and Whitworth last week but the two visiting teams got the better of the Wildcats as they moved to 5-10 and 0-6 in Northwest Conference play. The 'Cats now shift their focus to a midweek game against George Fox (11-4, 4-2 NWC) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Followed by a home matchup against Pacific (8-7, 2-4 NWC) on Friday at 8 p.m.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats give up the second least amount of points in the conference at 72.3. As a team Linfield averages 68.2 points per contest. Cade Collins ranks inside the top 15 of all scorers, averaging 12.9 points per game. Jackson Dupree has been a force on the glass and averages the most rebounds per game at 8.4. Dupree also leads the NWC in total rebounds at 126. Jack Greenwood (2.5) and Chase Bennett (2.4) lead the team in assists per game with Dupree (2) close behind. On defense, Garrett Callsen (13) ranks among the top three in the NWC in total blocks and averages nearly one block per game.

The Bruins average the second most points in the conference at 88.9. George Fox holds opponents to the lowest field goal percentage at 41 percent and lowest three-point percentage at 28. Aidan Price (13.3) leads the Bruins in scoring while James Moore (12.7) and Momo Stokes (12.6) also average double figures. Price holds the second-best field goal percentage in the conference, shooting just over 61 percent. Defensively, Austin Clark ranks second in the NWC in total blocks with 14.
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
The Boxers average 84 points per contest and hold opponents to just under 74. Pacific averages the second most threes made per game at 9.7. Devin Fortune (15.5) leads the Boxers in scoring with Lucas Winkler (14.5) right behind. Fortune also leads Pacific in rebounding averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. Truman Young ranks among the leaders in three-point percentage, shooting over 34 percent. Winkler averages the second most assists per game at 4.4 and leads the NWC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.7.
 
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats are 61-49 all-time against the Bruins. Linfield has controlled the last 10 meetings against George Fox, going 9-1 and going unbeaten since the 2020-21 season. The 'Cats average over 83 points per contest against the Bruins.
 
Linfield is 74-39 all-time against Pacific, including a 7-3 record in the last 10 meetings. However, the Boxers have won three of the last five matchups. The Wildcats are 44-13 at home and average over 78 points per game.
