Men thrive in big meet, place 11th among 25 teams

SALEM, Ore. – Three Linfield men finished among the top 80 runners Saturday at the annual Charles Bowles Invitational. Competing in crowded field of 25 collegiate teams plus a bevy of unattached entries, the Wildcats showed off their mid-season stride with one of the best team finishes in recent memory.

Alex Oathout (26:03), Bradley Kiltow (26:12) and Calvin Cahill (26:19) each finished within 16 seconds of one another, taking 71st, 75th and 79th places, respectively.

Freshman Emil Miller turned in a solid effort in his first race of that size, claiming 105th place in 26:51. Fellow Wildcat Devin Harrison was 119th in 27:12.

Collectively, the Linfield men placed 11th, topping Northwest Conference foes Willamette, Pacific and Pacific Lutheran.

On the women's side, Linfield secured 19th place. Jennifer Torres Bermudez paced Linfield with a 48th place finish, covering the five-kilometer course in 18:52. Also contributing to the women's team score was Jayden Taylor, 129th in 20:16, Mary Sturley nabbed 131st in 20:20, Kaylee Delzotti placed 141st in 20:40, and Saniyah Ayala was 150th in 20:54.
