‘Cats prepare for Pioneers, Lutes

THE RECORDS
Linfield has been knocking on the door but hasn't broken through with a win yet on the season. The Wildcats (0-4-2) finish out a five-match road trip at Lewis & Clark (0-5, 0-1) before returning to the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex. For the first time since Sept. 3, against the top conference team in Pacific Lutheran (3-1-2, 2-0).
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats average 1.167 goals on 9.67 shots per match. Seamus Miller and Sid Kosaris are tied for the team lead with two goals each. Cameron Gaines also provides offensive punch, ranking amongst the top five of the Northwest Conference in shots on goal with eight.
 
Angel Hernandez leads the Wildcats' back line playing all 540 minutes so far this season. Freshman goalkeeper Colby Reese started the last two matches for Linfield against Willamette and George Fox. Reese totaled nine combined saves.
 
LEWIS & CLARK AT A GLANCE
The Pioneers are in their first year back in the NWC as a program since 1991. The Pioneers average 3.6 shots per match and have scored one goal so far this season. Nathaniel Pi-Sunyer was credited with the goal for Lewis & Clark and leads the team in shots with five. Ben Tallent has led the Pioneers in goalkeeping minutes tallying 10 saves on a .556 save percentage.
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN AT A GLANCE
The Lutes have found a rhythm so far this season. Pacific Lutheran leads the conference in goals scored and averages nearly three goals per match (2.83). The Lutes lead in shots per match (16.83) and shots on goal (8.5). Craig Johnson leads the league in goals with six and Robby Guyer leads the league in assists with three. Pacific Lutheran has allowed the third least amount of opponent goals scored with eight.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats have won both of their previous meetings with Lewis & Clark. Linfield won last season's contest against the Pioneers 3-1.
 
Linfield is 19-30-2 all-time against Pacific Lutheran with recent history heavily favoring the Lutes. Pacific Lutheran has won the last 11 matches. The Wildcats are 9-17-1 against the Lutes at home with the last win coming in 2012.

On Sunday, Linfield men's and women's soccer are partnering together with Hui o Lokahi in support of Linfield students who were affected by the fires on Maui. Linfield4Maui encourages soccer student-athletes and supporters to wear pink. Kamaʻāina food truck will be on-site and additional QR codes to contribute funds toward Maui's restoration through the Hawaii Community Foundation.
