Linfield University golfer Douglas Bailey made a statement in his college debut over the weekend. The freshman led Linfield with a 2-under-par 142 to claim the top individual spot in the Pacific Fall Classic and take home Northwest Conference Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Durham, Ore., native and Tigard High School graduate led the Wildcats to a tournament win with the team combining for a 4-over 580 final score.

The tournament victory was Linfield's first team win since the 2017-18 season when the Wildcats won the Spring Thaw hosted by Willamette.

The Wildcats travel next to Morongo GC in Southern California where they'll compete in the Bulldog Invitational on Sept. 24-26 hosted by Redlands University.
