SALEM, Ore. – Linfield (3-1-1) continued its winning ways on Wednesday evening at Sparks Field in Salem beating Willamette (0-4-1) 6-0. The Wildcats scored four goals in the first half and never looked back. Linfield won its Northwest Conference opening match in commanding fashion and beat the Willamette by the biggest margin in school history.
The Wildcats led in every offensive statistic. Linfield had comfortable margins in shots (18-7), shots on goal (13-4) and corner kicks (8-2). The 'Cats recorded six assists in a game for the first time since 2010.
Sidra Griffin and
Mia Curtaz had two assists each with
Kathryn Pearson and
Jocelyn Jacobs also adding an assist.
Emilee Miller kept her second clean sheet of the season and totaled four saves.
Linfield set the tone in the first half, outshooting Willamette 11-2, including eight shots landing on goal.
Janae Lewis,
Anna Dazey,
Jenna Stanley and Jacobs all found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes.
The Wildcats continued their strong showing in the second half, with Dazey scoring her second goal only two minutes into the new period.
Kamahie Samudio whipped in the final goal inside the 18-yard box, capping off a dominant night.
Willamette finished the evening with seven saves and seven shots.

The 'Cats look for their third win in a row when they take on George Fox at the Austin Sports Complex on Sunday at noon. Linfield then travels to Lewis and Clark on Sept. 23 before opening up a three-game home stand.
