Alex Saindon has joined the Linfield University men's basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.

"Having Alex join our staff is exciting," said new Linfield head coach Levi Sieg. "His experience at different levels within the NCAA is an invaluable asset to our program. With his expertise, we are confident that he will make a significant impact and contribute to all aspects of the program."

Saindon comes to Linfield after spending the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Western Oregon University where he worked on player development, game strategy and student-athlete recruitment. During his time, he helped Western Oregon earn a berth in the GNAC Tournament

Prior to his time in Monmouth, Saindon spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Western New Mexico University. While on staff at Western New Mexico, he was vital in the development of multiple All-Lone Star conference selections while contributing to the program's first 10-win season since 2012.

Saindon began his coaching career as the Head Student Manager for the men's basketball team at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2017-20. During his time at UCSB, he excelled in managing team operations while also pursuing his academic goals.

Added Sieg: "Alex's strong recruiting ties on the West Coast are an asset for our team at Linfield. His connections with college coaches and club teams on the West Coast will play a crucial role in our recruitment efforts."

A native of El Cerrito, California, Saindon graduated in 2020 from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
