McMINNVILLE, Ore. –
E.J. Sablan gave the Wildcats an early lead but two second-half goals from Pacific lifted the Boxers to a 2-1 victory at the Linfield Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon. Pacific took advantage of a Linfield side that was down a man due to a red card with 30 minutes left in the second half.
The Wildcats (1-8-3, 1-5-2) combined for nine shots, four on goal and five fouls, including a
Cameron Gaines red card.
Colby Reese recorded two saves. Sablan led the 'Cats offense with a goal and four shots. Defenders
Evan Stafford,
Angel Hernandez,
Ross Vargo,
Aedan Carroll and
Wolf Pfaeffle played all 90 minutes for the Wildcats.
Linfield was the more aggressive team in the first half holding a 6-3 shot advantage. Sablan pulled the Wildcats ahead with his second goal of the season in the 13th minute.
The Wildcats played the final 30 minutes of the match down a player after Gaines received a red card. The Boxers capitalized with goals in the 68th and 89th minutes to steal the victory
The Boxers (2-5-5, 3-4-2) finished with nine shots, four on goal, four corner kicks and 11 fouls. Zach Aderinto recorded three saves while Aiden Pierias and Tait Kuchenbrod scored the Pacific goals.
