McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield's offense couldn't be stopped on Saturday evening in Ted Wilson Gymnasium. The Wildcats surpassed double-digit kills in every set and tallied their best hitting percentage on the season (.337) to beat Whitman (3-12, 2-6) in straight sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.
The Wildcats combined for 44 kills, 40 digs, 42 assists, five serving aces and eight blocks.
Araeya Watanabe led the team in kills with 12 while
Katelin Sindelar was close behind with 11.
Paige Richards led the defense with 12 digs.
Claire Johnson accounted for a game-high 32 assists.
Linfield grabbed a tightly contested first set behind 18 set kills on a .412 hitting percentage. Sindelar paced the Wildcats with six kills in the set.
Watanabe led the Wildcats to a second-set win accounting for half of the 14 set kills. The 'Cats closed the sweep with 12 more set kills and four team blocks.
The Blues totaled 27 kills, on a .091 hitting percentage, 37 digs, 26 assists and four serving aces. Kenzie Martinez led the Blues in kills (9) and digs (11).
