Linfield can’t find equalizer at Puget Sound

Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – Linfield couldn't snap a two game-losing skid against Puget Sound at East Field in Tacoma Wash., on Saturday afternoon. Marko Babiak's goal in the 73rd minute was the difference for the Loggers (5-3-2, 3-3-2) 1-0 victory over the Wildcats.
 
The 'Cats (1-7-3, 1-4-2) totaled 13 shots, five on goal, four corner kicks and 11 fouls. Colby Reese finished with four saves while Johann Singh Sanchez and Owen Schoner led the offense with two shots each.
 
Ross Vargo, Evan Stafford and Aedan Carroll all played 90 minutes for Linfield. Romario Mendoza received the only Linfield caution.
 
The Wildcats were on the front foot in the first half, earning three corner kicks and forcing Loggers goalkeeper Ryan Saunders into action twice.
 
Linfield matched Puget Sound shot for shot in the second half but the only difference was Babiak's unassisted goal with 17 minutes left.
 
The Loggers finished with 16 shots, five on goal, three corner kicks and nine fouls. Goalkeeper Saunders finished with five saves.

The Wildcats are back in friendly confines on Sunday when they host Pacific at 2:30 p.m.
