Roggenbuck to play in today's NABC-Reese's D-III All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Linfield men's basketball graduate-student guard Dempsey Roggenbuck has been selected to play in the 2022 NABC-Reese's Division III College All-Star game, adding yet another honor to his growing list of postseason accolades.

The Division III All-Star Game, held in conjunction with the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, features the top senior talent across Division III. Rosters include representation from each Division III region.

The game will be held Saturday, March 19 at 3:00 ET at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum as a precursor to the NCAA Division III Men's National Championship game, held on the same floor at 6:00 ET.

Roggenbuck is one of 20 Division III players selected from around country chosen as a NABC-Reese's All-Star, one of two representing Division III's region 10, which features programs from the American Southwest Conference, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in addition to the Northwest Conference.

Roggenbuck will play for Team Dafler, coached by former Westminster College (Pa.) men's basketball coach and longtime athletic director Jim Dafler, who coached Westminster to four Keystone-Empire Collegiate Conference championships in the late-90s and early-2000s.

They will compete against the all-stars on Team Edwards, coached by former longtime Washington University in St. Louis coach Mark Edwards, one of the most successful coaches in Division-III men's basketball history.

Roggenbuck completed his hall of fame, five-year career as a member of the Linfield Wildcats this season, leading the 'Cats to their first consecutive Northwest Conference Championships since 1978 while scoring 20.1 points per game on 47.5 percent shooting with a 31.6 percent mark from three and 84.3 percent on free throws. He also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while playing a team-high 32.4 minutes per game.

For his efforts he was named an All-NWC First Team honoree for the second time in his career, making him just the 6th player in program history to be a four-time all-league selection and just the 18th to be a first-team selection over multiple seasons.

Roggenbuck became Linfield's fourth all-time leading scorer this past season on Feb. 11 in an 85-66 win over George Fox and finished his career with 1,995 points scored. He sits first all-time in games started with 94. And at 3,004 career minutes played, he played more minutes than any other Wildcat in men's basketball history.

Roggenbuck's name is also spread throughout the Linfield record books at second in career made three's (174), third in made field goals (727), sixth in games played (108) and ninth in made free throws (367). His career scoring average of 18.4 points per game is good enough for eighth all-time.

His NABC-Reese's All-Star Game selection comes on the heels of Roggenbuck being named a finalist for the Josten's Trophy last week, the award given to the most outstanding Division-III Player of the Year exhibiting excellence on the court, in the classroom and in service to the community.
