WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Linfield scored a combined 14 runs in Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Whitman. The Wildcats topped that performance with a 15-4 rout of the Blues Sunday afternoon at Borleske Stadium.
The Blues were leading 4-3 going into the seventh inning before the Wildcats went off for nine runs. The 'Cats added three more insurance runs in the ninth inning to put a stamp on the program's first series sweep since 2018. The seventh-inning hit parade including an RBI single by
Cameron Skinner along with two-run singles by
Bodey Smith,
Tanner Jacques and
Daniel Kahn.
Eight Linfield starters had a hit in the series finale. Jacques,
Branden Pasion, Kahn and Smith all collected three hits. Pasion scored four times while Jacques, Kahn,
Bodey Smith,
Wyatt Smith and
Garrett Moen all drove in two runs.
Leo Rivera had a productive day at the plate for Whitman, going 3 for 5 with a run in the leadoff spot. Garrett Runyan and Jack Bickerton collected two hits apiece.
John Over went just 2 2/3 innings in his third start of the season, allowing four earned runs on four hits.
Colton Meyer shined out of the bullpen, allowing three hits and striking out four in 3 2/3 innings of work. Whitman starter Dexter Aichele took the loss to drop to 2-4 on the season. He allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched.

Linfield is above .500 on the season and riding a five-game winning streak. They stand at 9-8 overall and 6-4 in Northwest Conference play. The 'Cats will host Lewis & Clark in a non-conference meeting on Wednesday before completing the postponed games against the Pioneers from Feb. 26 next week.
