MBB All-NWC

Senior trio named to All-NWC Men's Basketball Team

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Linfield's big three of Dempsey Roggenbuck, Max Lommen and Aaron Baune has spearheaded the Wildcats to a share of the Northwest Conference regular-season title for the second straight season. It's no surprise that all three seniors were named to the 2022 All-NWC Men's Basketball Team.

Roggenbuck was named to the All-NWC First Team for the second straight season, having also earned the honor in 2020. He earned second-team honors as a sophomore in 2019 and was an honorable mention and the NWC Freshman of the Year in 2018. First-time honorees on the All-Conference Team, Lommen landed on the second team while Baune was picked as an honorable mention. Roggenbuck becomes just the sixth player in program history to earn an All-Conference selection four times. He's the 18th player to earn multiple first-team nods in the program's 110-year history.

With the three standouts leading the way, the Wildcats wrapped up the regular season at 18-6 overall and finished in a three-way tie for the title with Whitworth and Pacific Lutheran with a 13-3 record in NWC play. They own the tiebreaker over the Pirates and Lutes to claim the top seed and home-court advantage throughout the NWC Championship.

The 'Cats averaged 80.5 points per game in the regular season while limiting opponents to 73.6 points per game with a 42.7 field goal percentage. They lead the NWC in both turnover margin (2.79) and assist/turnover ratio (1.38).

Roggenbuck has been the program's rock the entire season and for much of his collegiate career. He ranks second in the NWC with 20.1 points per game, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 83.7 percent from the free throw line, which also ranks second in the conference. Roggenbuck scored in double figures in 19 of his 20 games played. He dropped a season-high 34 points against NAIA Warner Pacific on Dec. 28. He also put up 31 points against Pacific Lutheran on Jan. 22.

Lommen is averaging 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and leads the NWC with 2.3 steals per game. He is second on the team with 62 assists. Lommen dropped a career-high 34 points against Willamette on Jan. 21, connecting on 13 of 20 from the field while knocking down six three-pointers.

Baune is putting up 12.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and is third in the NWC with 29 blocks. He set a new career high with 28 points against George Fox on Jan. 15, surpassing his previous best mark of 26 points. Baune recorded eight blocks in a non-conference matchup with Piedmont on Dec. 10. The performance set the Linfield single-game record, eclipsing the previous mark of seven set by Sam Kreiger in 2005.

Pacific Lutheran's Seth Hall was named the NWC Player of the Year while Cedric Coward of Willamette earned Freshman of the Year honors. Chad Murray was chosen by his peers as the Coach of the Year after leading Pacific Lutheran to a share of its first conference title since 1986.
