Wildcats await CCC's Warner Pacific, Walla Walla

GAME PREVIEWS

THE RECORDS
Linfield is at an even 3-3 overall and 1-1 against Northwest Conference foes after the first week of NWC play. Warner Pacific is 5-2 to start the season and won its first three Cascade Collegiate Conference games. Walla Walla (0-6, 0-3 CCC) is still searching for its first win of the season.

LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats capped off a doubleheader sweep of George Fox with an 85-74 win over the Bruins Friday night at Ted Wilson Gymnasium. They went to Forest Grove on Saturday and fell 67-57 to a fresh and energized Pacific team.

Trey Bryant leads the team and ranks No. 4 in the NWC in scoring with 15.7 points per game. The sophomore point guard is also second in the conference with 4.5 assists per game, fourth with 2.2 steals per game, fifth with 6.8 rebounds per game and eighth with a .500 field goal percentage. Carson Bonine is averaging double figures with 11.2 points per game and has knocked down a team-leading 14 three-pointers. He's also second to Bryant with 15 assists and eight steals.

Reece Gibb turned in the second-best scoring output of his career against George Fox, dropping 20 points in the first half with five three-pointers. He made 7 of 11 shots from the field and added three rebounds and a block.

WARNER PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
The Knights are riding a four-game win streak, which includes a 76-65 victory over fellow NWC member Lewis & Clark on Nov. 15. Much of the offensive power has relied on Thomas Miles and Isaac Etter. Miles is shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 97.4 percent from the free throw line on his way to averaging 22 points and 7.3 rebounds per game to go with 15 assists and 20 steals. Etter is scoring 17 points per game and leads the team with 17 assists. Dakota Reber is just under double figures with 9.9 points per game to go with 5.7 rebounds per game. Caleb-Tyree Morgan has already racked up 22 blocks in seven games this season.

WALLA WALLA AT A GLANCE
The Wolves are being outscored by an average of 28.4 points per game. They're shooting 42.6 percent from the field as a team. Andrew Vaughan's 15.2 points per game lead the way on the offensive side of the court. Caleb Golden is right behind Vaughan with 13.2 points per game on 58.7 percent shooting. The Wolves' leading rebounder is Britt Murray with 5.4 per game. Vaughan and Ethan Ford have both dished out 11 assists so far this season.

HISTORY
Linfield and Warner Pacific have played each other 36 times with the Wildcats taking 21 of those games. The Knights are 9-7 at home in the all-time series. The 'Cats ended an eight-game losing streak to WPU during the 2019-20 season. Since then, they have rattled off three more wins to extend their win streak to four games. The most recent meeting ended in a 77-74 Linfield home win last December.
