SPOKANE, Wash. – Linfield heavyweight
Jacob Barnes improved his record to 7-0 on the season and won an individual title at the Spokane Open on Sunday, leading the first-year Wildcats in one of the biggest early-season college tournaments in the west.
Linfield women finished in fourth place out of eight universities, paced by a second-place finish from
Mikayla Pool, a third-place showing by
Ayana Medina and a fourth-place result from
Klaira Flatt.
On the men's side, Barnes placed first,
Micah Worthington claimed third place,
Lance Van Hoose was fifth and
Jacob Moore finished sixth. Linfield placed sixth among 14 men's teams.
All seven Linfield wrestlers who brought home hardware from the tournament are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.
