SALEM, Ore. – The abbreviated 2021 spring season came to a close at the Willamette Bearcats on Friday night at Cone Field House for the Linfield Wildcats.
The Bearcats won by a score of 3-0, taking the first two sets with matching scores of 25-15, Wildcats got close in the third, but fell 25-23.
Raelynn Hammock had eight kills for Linfield,
Regan Dean and
Megan Stanek had five.
Aylea Dixon had 19 assists.
Megan Pallas played all three sets and had three blocks.
McKenzie Brock had two aces.
Hammock led the team with 14 digs,
Maya Nakasone had 11,
Tessa Doerfler had 10 and
Regan Dean nine. Doerfler ends her career with 186 digs. Dean, also a senior, is planning on using her extra year of eligibility and return next fall.
Bearcats won the match on three straight aces by Arianna Khan. Natalie Klotz had 10 digs, Khan had nine and Dani Queja had seven. Emma Porter led both teams with 27 assists. Shyla Sato had 16 digs and Porter had 10 digs.
Hammock finishes the season with an average of 2.96 kills per match, which is fifth in the Northwest Conference, her average of 3.22 digs per set is 10
th. Nakasone finishes the season 16
th in the NWC with an average of 2.93 digs per set and Doerfler is 21
st with 2.56 digs per set. Dean is 18
th with 2.22 kills per set.
Linfield finishes the conference only spring 2021 season with an 0-8 record under first-year coach
