Linfield concludes the season against Puget Sound

MATCH PREVIEW

The Linfield Wildcats lacrosse team takes on the Puget Sound Loggers in Tacoma, Washington, for the final two matches of the 2021 season. The Wildcats and the Loggers take the first draw at 1 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. as well on Sunday.

LINFIELD
The Wildcats are tied for the second-best record in the Northwest Conference going into the weekend. Linfield and Willamette split the series at home two weeks ago.
 
Linfield is third in the NWC with a scoring average of 13.8 goals per match. The Wildcats have claimed 133 draw controls, which leads the NWC and caused 93 turnovers which is second. Defensively, Linfield has made 52 saves.
 
Bethany Shade is fifth in the conference with 26 goals, Jenna Hessel is sixth with 23. Maia Rezoski has 21 and Josie Duey has 20. Shade is second in the conference with 41 points, Rezoski is seventh with 31.
 
Shade and Rezoski have claimed 37 and 31 groundballs respectively, which is top-two in the NWC. Shade has also won 85 draw controls and caused 28 turnovers, both are tops in the NWC.
 
The defensive unit for the Wildcats is comprised of Gemmajean Patterson, Maranda Tucker, Elena Kroll and Madison Hicks. Goalkeeper Epi Roldan-Rayo is second in the NWC with 46 saves.
 
The Wildcats have won four straight meetings over the Loggers, but trail the all-time head-to-head, 26-11.
 
PUGET SOUND
The Loggers have played four conference matches thus far, they are 2-1 in the first three matches and had to forfeit last Sunday's match to the George Fox Bruins due to insufficient number of players.
 
The two wins for Puget Sound were over Pacific by scores of 21-15 and 12-7 respectively. Hayden Hotchkiss and Emily LaRiviere have eight goals each, Hannah Bushing and Abby Stranahan have seven goals each. Bee Bridge has won 23 draw controls.
 
Olivia Almy has played every minute in goal. She has made 38 saves on a 31.9 save percent and is giving up 16.2 goals per match.
