NEWBERG, Ore. ā Down a set against the Linfield Wildcats, the George Fox Bruins came back to win 3-1 at the Wheeler Sports Center on Thursday night. The set scores were 21-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-16.

The Bruins pick up their second win of the season and now have a Northwest Conference record of 2-2 and overall record of 2-3. Linfield is 0-5 through five matches in the conference-only schedule.

The first set was tied at four, before the Wildcats rattled off 11 straight points to lead 15-6, all on serves by
Raelynn Hammock, who had three aces in that run. The Bruins did not go down easy in the first set as they pulled to within 18-16 and forced the Wildcats to call a timeout after two attacking errors. They tied the set at 18 on an assisted block by Ashtyn Butler and Paige O'Rear.

Linfield had three set points at 24-21 with Hammock on serve and took the first set on a kill by Hammock. This was the first time this season that the Wildcats had the set lead in a match. Hammock had a double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs.
Regan Dean also had a double-double with 11 digs and 11 kills. Ā Ā

Seraiah Ochse had seven kills,
Regan Dean and Hammock had four. Libero
Maya Nakasone had seven digs and defensive specialist
Tessa Doerfler had four digs. In the match, Nakasone had 25 digs, which is a career-high for the sophomore.

The Bruins had the edge throughout the second and had a chance to close it out at 24-18. Wildcats won four straight points to make it 24-22, but lost the set on a kill by O'Rear, who had 10 kills in the match.

George Fox lead 5-0 in the third set. Linfield slowly and steadily came back to tie the set at 13 on an attacking error. Bruins won the third, 25-18.

A kill by O'Rear closed out the match for the Bruins, 25-16. Bailey LeBraton led the Bruins with 15 kills. George Fox as a team had a .190 hit percentage, Wildcats hit .086. The Wildcats had 12 service errors in the match. Piper Harrop had four aces for the Bruins.

Hammock had five aces, Doerfler had two and Nakasone had one. Ochse had nine kills and a solo block.

Aylea Dixon had 36 assists and 10 digs for the Wildcats and the Bruins' setter, Laney Search had 37 assists.
