MCMINNVILLE, Ore. ā Despite 22 points from
Shasta Lofgren, the Linfield Wildcats lost to the George Fox Bruins, 68-52 at Ted Wilson Gym on Saturday.

This was the first weekend of Northwest Conference games for both teams, Linfield is now 0-2 overall and 0-2 in NWC play. George Fox is 2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference matchups.

The Bruins scored 42 points in the first and limited the Wildcats to just four in the second quarter. Linfield outscored George Fox 39-26 in the second half. 17 of the 22 points for Lofgren came in the second half.

Cassidy Posey led George Fox with 12 points, Erin Yoshitake and Kate Huguenin had 10 points each. George Fox's rebounds leader was Jenna Lacey with five. Poyer, Yoshitake and Huguenin all shot 4 for 5 from the field.

Along with Lofgren's 22,
Brooke Landis had nine points,
Paige LaFountain had seven points and
Delaney Ragan had six points. LaFountain led the team with five rebounds and four assists, she also had two steals as did
Jordyn Feinauer.

Bruins shot 61.4 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from beyond the three-point line. Wildcats shot 28.6 percent from both the field as well as the beyond-the-arc. They made 14 of their 21 free-throw attempts.

These two teams meet once again for a home-and-home series on April 9-10. Linfield is the home team on the first night.

Linfield has a bye in the conference schedule next week and takes on Warner Pacific on Friday at 12 noon. The Knights come to Ted Wilson Gym on Saturday at 6 p.m.
