MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – In the second match in as many nights against the Pacific Boxers, the Linfield Wildcats fell 3-0 on Friday night at Ted Wilson Gym. The set scores were 25-22, 25-10, 25-21 in favor of the Boxers.

Pacific continues its strong 2021 season holding a 5-0 record after Friday night, Linfield is now 0-4.

In the first set, Linfield led 21-19 on a service error by Pacific, who won six of the next seven points to take the first set, 25-22 on a service ace by Nanea Lum. Terina DeFries led both teams with four aces in the match.

Boxers pulled away in the second set leading 10-3 early and closed it out on a kill by Claire Stipsits, who had eight kills. Jordan Sweifel was the Boxers' team leader with 15 kills.

For the Wildcats,
Raelynn Hammock and
Regan Dean had seven kills each,
Tessa Doerfler had 12 digs and Hammock had eight.
Ellie Mead had a solo block and teamed up with
Megan Stanek for two assisted blocks to total three, Stanek had two.

Wildcats got to within 11-10 in the third set on a kill by Mead, but the Boxers won their fifth match in a row on a kill by Stipsits once again. Pacific had a hitting percentage of .258 in the match, the Wildcats were limited to .052. Linfield had the 5-4 edge in blocks.

Aylea Dixon had 22 assists, she also had one service ace as did Dean, Hammock and
Maya Nakasone.

Pacific has now won eight straight meetings over Linfield, who still holds the all-time edge, 39-16.
