McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Linfield volleyball team ran away with the third set on Homecoming night, but George Fox took the match, 3-1, on Saturday night at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bruins won by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 18-25 and 25-23. They finished with 37 kills, 35 assists, 18 blocks and 80 digs. The Wildcats also finished with 80 digs to go with 46 kills, 44 assists and 10 blocks.
Kassandra Staton and Caitlin Nemecek led the Bruins with 10 kills apiece while Addison Robertson just missed double digits in kills with nine. Staton finished with a .211 hitting percentage with a match-high 28 digs while Nemecek had a .350 hitting percentage.
Juniors
Raelynn Hammock and
Kara Thomas led the 'Cats offensively. Hammock registered a match-high 14 kills with 18 digs while Thomas had a season-high 11 kills. Junior
Seraiah Ochse also had a solid performance with seven kills.
Linfield setters
Aylea Dixon and
Mia Naccarato combined for 38 assists with Dixon finishing with 18 and Naccarato finishing with a match-high 20. Junior
Maya Nakasone led the team with 23 digs in her return to libero.
NEXT
With the loss, Linfield fell to 4-9 overall and 0-8 in Northwest Conference play. The 'Cats stay home next week, hosting Willamette on Wednesday and Puget Sound on Saturday.
