McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Linfield men's soccer team's Senior Day was spoiled by Whitman as the Blues won 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Linfield University Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
Oscar Harding scored the game-winner for the Blues in the 66
th minute on a penalty kick. It was his seventh goal of the season. Jacob Barsher had a match-high four shots with two shots on goal while Harding finished with three shots, two on goal.
It was a physical late-season match with the two teams combining for 22 fouls, including 16 in the second half. The Blues outshot the Wildcats 12-10 with five shots on goal. The 'Cats had seven corner kicks but couldn't find the net.
Sophomore midfielder
Ruben Lopez led the 'Cats with three shots in 62 minutes off the bench.
Romario Mendoza had two shots and one shot on goal while
Keegan Brooks had the other shot on goal. Mendoza, Brooks,
Angel Hernandez and
Logan Clizer all played the full 90 minutes.
Junior
Julian Inches played the entire match in goal for the 'Cats, making three saves. Whitman's Colby Ramsey improved to 10-3-0 in goal for the Blues. He ranks second in the Northwest Conference with a 0.86 goals against average.

Harrison Davis and
Cesar Cruz-Espindola. Fifth-year senior
Dayton Farrow celebrated Senior Day last season.

Linfield is now 1-14-2 overall and 0-11-2 in Northwest Conference play. The 'Cats will close their season at Willamette on Saturday.
