Wildcats face big weekend against Lutes, Bruins

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters the week at 3-9-2 overall and 2-7-1 in Northwest Conference play. Pacific Lutheran is 12-2-0 overall and 8-2-0 in NWC play while George Fox is 9-4-1 with a 7-2-1 conference mark. The Lutes sit in second place in the NWC standings while the Bruins are third and the Wildcats are seventh.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats split on the road in Oregon last week, winning 2-1 at Willamette in overtime and losing 3-1 at Lewis & Clark. Junior forward Laney Green is the team's leading scorer with four goals to go with an assist, nine points and 31 shots, which is tied for third in the Northwest Conference. Senior defender Ashley Guldager has three goals and an assist in 2021. She fired in the golden goal against the Bearcats on her own corner kick. Sophomore Emma Mulligan is 2-2-0 in her first four matches of the season with a 1.74 goals against average.
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN AT A GLANCE
The Lutes split last week, beating Whitworth, 2-0, in Spokane before being upset by Whitman, 1-0, in Walla Walla. Freshman Hannah Cecil leads the team with five goals while junior Vera Panescu-Reich and senior Alyssa Jordan have four goals apiece. Junior Ellie Reardon leads the Northwest Conference with six assists. Freshman Eva Wirth is 9-0-0 in goal with a .900 save percentage and a 0.24 goals against average, both of which rank second in the NWC. 
 
GEORGE FOX AT A GLANCE
The Bruins are riding a three-match winning streak after picking up a pair of wins over Lewis & Clark and Pacific last week. Junior Maggie Phillips and freshman Taylor Ho lead the team with five goals and two assists apiece. Phillips also leads the Northwest Conference with 5.08 shots per game. Sophomore Willa Evans has three goals and an assist in 2021. Freshman Sara Thudium is 5-1-1 in eight matches in goal and ranks third in the NWC with a 0.33 goals against average.
 
HISTORY
Linfield and Pacific Lutheran have met 52 times. The Wildcats are 23-26-3 against the Lutes all-time. The 'Cats are 7-15-1 on the road against the Lutes. The Lutes won the first matchup of the season, 4-1, on Sept. 25 in McMinnville.
 
Linfield and George Fox have met 54 times with the Bruins leading the series with a 24-23-7 record. The Wildcats own a 15-8-1 home record against the Bruins. The Bruins won the first meeting of the season, 2-0, on Sept. 26 in Newberg.
