Kendall LeCompte and Brooke Medina, members of the Linfield cheer and stunt team, are set to graduate from Linfield this month after participating with the Wildcats for multiple seasons.
Â
LeCompte calls performing at Cat Camp as one of the most enjoyable events to perform at. Dancing to "Cotton Eye Joe" with Linfield Director of Athletics Garry Killgore at the 2019 Cat Camp, will go down as one of her most memorable moments. A video of that dance has accumulated more than 1.1 million views on TikTok.
Â
"Kendall is a natural when it comes to athleticism and leadership. She works hard to achieve greatness at every turn and inspires her teammates to do the same. Kendall is always willing to share her knowledge and wisdom with others which made her excel in her leadership role as co-captain," said Linfield cheer and stunt coach
Jade Kuehn.
Â
"Kendall's commitment to the team was remarkable. I will always appreciate her help in creating such an amazing culture for Linfield cheer and stunt."
Â
Originally from Edmonds, Washington, LeCompte remembers calls the Homecoming football game against Puget Sound this past season as her most memorable game.
Â
"It was so fun cheering for a packed stadium and getting to see all of the Linfield alumni who are proud to be Wildcats forever."
Â
An accounting major, LeCompte competed on the team for three years and is preparing to take certified public accountancy exams after graduation, while working for a public accounting firm in Seattle.
Â
Medina was a member of the team for two seasons and is an exercise science major from Salem.
Â
"Brooke is an incredible co-captain and teammate. She is also one of the toughest athletes I have had the pleasure of coaching. Her eagerness to push to new heights took her and her teammates to the next level," said Kuehn.
Â
"She leads by example and can always find the perfect balance between strength and grace. I will always be grateful for the incredible environment she helped create with Linfield cheer and stunt."
Â
The senior calls the people she interacted with on campus as the highlight of her time at Linfield. "The people I met, including peers, professors, teammates and my coach, have all impacted my life in many ways. I couldn't be more thankful."
Â
The senior calls the first event on campus each year, Cat Camp as her most fun event to cheer at. "It's the first time the cheer team performs together as a new team after only having a week to prepare."
Â
After graduating from Linfield, Medina plans to continue working and take some extra classes in preparation to apply for grad school.
