NEWBERG, Ore. – After a six-game win streak the Wildcats fell to number one in the Northwest Conference, George Fox on Saturday, April 20
th. Linfield moves to 8-5 overall and 7-2 in NWC play. The 'Cats two conference losses come from the Bruins as they lost 7-20 the first time around and then 7-21 today.
FIRST HALF
George Fox got on the board first as they scored the opening goal of the game within in the first 30 seconds.
Jenna Hessel of Linfield tied it up just a few minutes later, however the Bruins would score the next five goals. Linfield picked up their second goal of the game as
Bethany Shade found the back of the net. Fox added two more goals to their lead, but Linfield's Shade and
Josie Duey scored back-to-back goals to make it 4-8. The Bruins found the back of the net four more times before the half to take the lead 12-4.
SECOND HALF
Fox started off right where they left off as they scored in the first 20 seconds of the second half. Hessel countered again with a goal a couple of minutes later, but the Bruins responded with eight straight goals to take a 21-5 lead over the Wildcats. Shade picked up her third goal of the game and then
Maia Rezoski added one more for Linfield as they fell to George Fox.
