PORTLAND, ORE. – Hoping to keep their momentum from their Hawaii trip the Wildcats traveled to Portland to compete against conference opponent Lewis and Clark in a non-conference match. The match was played with division two rules meaning that the doubles point was only worth one point and you must win two out of three to earn it.
Linfield started out the match on top as they won the doubles point as the duo of
Michelle Ly and
Alysse Nakasato won their match 7(7) – 6(6) and then
Haley Fujimori and
Riley Clayeux followed with a 6-1 win at the number two position.
The Wildcats would then win five of their six singles matches starting with
Michelle Uyeda at the first position with a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Riley Clayeux,
Alysse Nakasato,
Haley Fujimori, and Jess Vezo would all pick up wins as well.
Next
Linfield will travel to the Whitman Winter Classic on February 24
th and take on Caltech and Gustavus Adolphus in Walla Walla, Washington.
