PORTLAND, ORE. – Hoping to keep their momentum from their match against Bellevue the Wildcats traveled to Portland to take on the Pioneers of Lewis and Clark in a non-conference match up. The match was played with division two rules, therefor the doubles point was only worth one. Linfield fell to Lewis and Clark 1-6.
In doubles
Nathan Saragoza and
Luis Rojas played really well at the No.1 doubles position as they had the lone win, but unfortunately with the scoring of today's match it did not count for anything. Rojas was also the lone Wildcat to win a singles match as he took down Brendan Adams 6-4, 6-4.
Coach Belletto's Thoughts
"We played well but not well enough."
"We have plenty of great things to work on this coming week in practice. It was great to get the win at one doubles, but with the scoring we used today, we weren't able to get on the board. We were close in the other matches."
"Luis and Nathan both played great tennis today. I'm looking forward to playing them again in a few weeks," said head coach
Ben Belletto.
