George Fox and Linfield play to another draw

NEWBERG, Ore. – In 220 minutes played between the cross-Yamhill County rivals, the Linfield Wildcats and the George Fox Bruins played to a scoreless draw once on Sunday afternoon, after the both teams tied 0-0 in the other matchup in 2019 at McMinnville. This game signaled the end of the season for both teams as well.
 
Linfield finishes tied for fourth place in the Northwest Conference with a record of 8-6-2, tying with Lewis & Clark. George Fox finishes 2-10-4 in conference play which is eighth.
 
Being the aggressive team was the theme for the Wildcats all season, outshooting their opponents in 14 of the 20 games, the Wildcats were 9-1-2 in the games where they outshot their opponents and that was the case on Sunday when the Bruins had 13 shots compared to 21 for the Wildcats.
 
Of the seven shots that went on goal for Linfield, four of them were saved by George Fox's Brooke Jones and the other three were saved by Annalisa Klein, who came in at halftime.
 
George Fox had just three shots on goal and all were saved by Alyssa Bakkensen, who allowed just one goal this weekend with games against Pacific Lutheran and George Fox.
 
Kristen Burke and Makenna Blix had about half of the shots for the Wildcats with Burke having six and Blix having four. Burke finishes tied for sixth in the NWC with six goals and is also sixth with 17 points. Blix finishes tied for second in the NWC with five assists.
 
Sydney Kuehn did not register a point on Sunday but after two assists on Saturday's win over Pacific Lutheran, she finishes second in the NWC with nine goals, tied for second with Blix with five assists and second in points with 23.
 
Senior forward from Duvall, Washington, Kuehn finishes her Wildcat career ninth all-time in program history with 49 points, seventh all-time with 20 goals.
 
Senior defender Taylor Cole appeared in 79 games, which is tied for fourth in program history and her 77 starts are fourth most in Linfield history.
 
Amidee Colleknon finishes her career with 12 goals, which is 14th and 28 points, which is 16th.
 
In the first season under coach Steve Simmons, Linfield finished 9-9-2 overall and 8-6-2 in conference play.
