'Cats cruise to victory over the Wolves

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Starting their season in front of the friendly home crowd, the Linfield Wildcats cruised to a win over the Walla Walla Wolves, 99-69. The 99 points scored by the Wildcats were the fourth most points scored in a single game in program history.
 
Walla Walla scored the first points of the game, but Linfield came right back to take the lead on a three-pointer by Delaney Ragan and Linfield led for the rest of the game. Ragan, who made her first career start in her first collegiate game, totaled 17 points, four assists and she was six for six from the field.
 
Molly Danielson led the way for the Wildcats with 18 points to start her senior season. The reigning first-team All-Northwest Conference center also grabbed eight rebounds and went seven for nine from the field.
 
Returners Cassidy Schutz and Jordyn Feinauer had 9 and 6 points respectively as both were on the bench for the majority of the second half.
 
Eight new faces made their Wildcat debuts on Saturday night including Alexis Heald, who had nine points and eight rebounds. Brooke Landis, Paige LaFountian, Jordan Worthington, Shasta Lofgren, Megan Miller and Janessa Yniguez all made their first appearance as Wildcats to go along with Ragan and Heald.
 
Kory Oleson was the other double-digit scorer for the 'Cats, she had seven rebounds to go along with her 14 points.
 
Linfield restricted Walla Walla to 69 points, including just 17 in the fourth quarter.
 
The 99 points scored Linfield are the most since scoring 129 against Northwest Indian in November 2014.
