MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – On a day where the Linfield Wildcats honored five seniors playing their final collegiate games in front of a raucous crowd, the Wildcats and the Willamette Bearcats played to a scoreless draw.
Willamette, who finished third in the Northwest Conference standings, had eight shots on goal, but all were saved by
Nick Van Kleek, many of them were dangerous scoring opportunities, but they were all saved by the Tualatin, Oregon, native.
The best scoring opportunity for the Bearcats came with about 50 seconds left in regulation, when they were awarded a penalty kick, but Van Kleek stretched out to make the save and force overtime.

The Wildcats had four shots on goal, but all were saved by the Bearcats. The Wildcats had more total shots 15-14, but Willamette had more shots on goal, 8-4.
Linfield's best scoring opportunity came in the first half when a shot by
Ronan Krutzikowsky hit the post and
Cesar Cruz-Espindola's shot was saved by Willamette's Richard Anthony.
The Wildcats conclude the season with a record of 5-12-2 and 3-9-2 in NWC play, which was sixth in conference play, while the Bearcats finish the season 11-4-4 and 8-4-2 in NWC which is third in the NWC.
Neither team had a scoring opportunity to score in the overtime periods as the defense were able to maintain the shutout, it was the third of the season for the Wildcats.
Van Kleek's eight saves were a season high in 110 minutes played and his first shutout of the season.
