SALEM, Ore. – With less than ten seconds left in regulation, the Willamette Bearcats scored to hand the Linfield Wildcats their third loss in a row. Makai Shriner scored for the Wildcats within the first two minutes of the game.
 
The Bearcats are now 4-2-1 in conference play, while the Wildcats are 2-4-1, being winless in their last four.
 
Shriner headed in the first scoring opportunity by either team on a long throw-in by Ronan Krutzikowsky with just two minutes into the game.
 
Willamette came back to tie the game in the 28^th minute on a shot that went past Cameron Perron, who had eight saves in this one.
 
The Wildcats 17 saves on Saturday, but only came away with the goal by Shriner.
 
In the final minute of the second half, with the game tied, the Bearcats got another one past Perron to take the lead.
 
Willamette played the ball into the box and Perron went in for the save and collided with the Bearcats' Josh Schneider as the ball went into the net with 17 seconds left in the game.
 
Both teams had 17 shots, but Willamette put more on goal with a 10-6 advantage.
 
Malachi Stalberg led the way for the Wildcats with five shots and two on goal.
 
This was the first goal of the season for the freshman Shriner.
 
Willamette now leads the all-time head to head 31-23-3 over Linfield.
