The Linfield College women's swimming team has been honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with an appointment to the organization's Scholar All-America team for the fall 2018 semester.
Teams were selected by the CSCAA's Scholar All-America committee on the basis of their fall term grade point averages. The field of NCAA Division III swimming programs represents 460 institutions nationwide and 16,502 student-athletes.
Under the leadership of fifth-year coach
Kyle Kimball, Linfield's women's squad compiled a combined fall GPA of 3.37. The Wildcats' team GPA ranked 94th among the 171 Division III women's programs that were recognized with Scholar All-America status.
"It's always an honor to acknowledge our teams for their academic success along with their success in the pool," said Kimball. "I'm truly proud of our women's team for receiving this distinction from the CSCAA. The student-athletes involved in our swimming program, along with all the teams at Linfield College, continue to prove that the hard work and dedication learned through sport transfers to the classroom and beyond. Congratulations to our women's swimming program!"
To earn the Scholar All-America team honor, squads were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.
