Oleson picks up her third double-double in win over Boxers

MCMINNVILLE, ORE. – The Linfield Wildcats (7-9) hosted the Boxers of Pacific (6-9) in Ted Wilson Gymnasium on January 18th. With a 76-73 win over the Boxers the Wildcats move to 4-4 in Northwest Conference play while Pacific falls to 0-7.
 
'Cat stats
All eight of the Wildcats were able to find their way onto the stat line this evening. Picking up her third double-double of the season Kory Oleson had a game high of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Counter-part Molly Danielson trailed closely behind scoring 21 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Jordyn Feinauer and Cameron Reuter also had big nights for the Wildcats as Feinauer managed nine while Reuter put up eight.
 
Boxer stats
Liana Tanka cared Pacific as she had a team high of 20 points and four assists. Three other Boxers were able to score in the double digits: Carolan (15), Jones (13), and Elliot (10). Pacific shot 42.6% from the field and 28.1 % from the three. Between the two teams there were 18 different lead changes in the match up.
 
1st Half
The Wildcats won the opening tip and went on a five-point run, as Danielson laid one in and then Feinauer drained a three, before the Boxers were able to get a bucket. Linfield and Pacific were point-for-point as there were five different lead changes in the first quarter. Oleson came out hot in the second quarter as she drained a three and then found the bottom of the net on a 10-footer as well. The Wildcats were able to hold of the Boxers in the last minute of the first-half and head into the locker room with a one-point lead.
 
2nd Half
The second half started out with multiple lead changes as the Boxers scored off of their opening position and the 'Cats were able to counter. Feinauer was able to extend the Wildcats lead to four-points as she knocked down a three from the left side of the court. With under a minute left to play the Boxers found a way to take the lead back from the 'Cats and go into the fourth quarter with a one-point lead. With under 20 seconds left to play the Wildcats held a three-point lead Cassidy Schutz was able to get a hand on the Boxers last shot!

The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday, January 25th as they host Lewis & Clark at 6:00 p.m. in Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
