Danielson goes for 19 as the 'Cats fall to the Bruins

NEWBERG, Ore. – The Linfield Wildcats (7-8) traveled down 99W to take on No. 15 George Fox (12-3) Tuesday night at the Wheeler Sports Center. Coming off of a big conference win over Whitworth on Saturday night, Linfield hoped to keep the momentum going. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the Wildcats fell 95-61 to the Bruins.
  
'Cat stats
Linfield was led by Molly Danielson's 21 points and eight rebounds. Kory Oleson and Cassidy Schutz also ended in double-digits; Oleson with 14 and Schutz with 12. Guard, Cameron Reuter had a team high of six assists and eight points.  
 
Bruins stats
Tavin Heading had a game high of 24 points. Four other George Fox players were able to be in the double digits; Spencer (13), Strowbridge (13), Holder (12), and Collman (12). The Bruins were 55.9% from the field and 47.1% from behind the arc. George Fox was able to force 29 turn overs on the Wildcats and pick up 16 steals.
 
1st Half
Neither team was able to find the bottom of the net till Molly Danielson took a pass from Cameron Reuter and laid on in with just over seven minutes left to play. George Fox countered with back-to-back layups to take the lead from the 'Cats.  A jumper by Cassidy Schutz put the 'Cats within one to close out the first quarter at, 19-20. The Bruins came out ready to play as the broke the Wildcats down with a full-quart press and were able to go on an eight-point run to begin the second quarter. Fox kept that pressure all the way through the second quarter and extended their lead to eighteen points going into halftime.
 
2nd Half
The Bruins started out where they left off in the third quarter as they extended their lead to 22 points with eight minutes left to play in the third. Linfield was able to cut George Fox's lead to 14 as Reuter found Morgan Croxford under the basket with just over four minutes left to play in the third. Heading in to the fourth quarter George Fox was able to extend their lead to 23.

The Wildcats are back in action on Friday, January 18th as they host Pacific at 6:00 p.m. in Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
