MCMINNVILLE, ORE. – The Linfield Wildcats (6-7) looked to pick up their fifth straight and third straight NWC win at home against Whitman (10-3) in Ted Wilson Gymnasium on Friday, January 11
th. Unfortunately, the 'Cats were unable to get past the Blues falling 50-73.
'Cat stats
All eight 'Cats were able to get on the scoreboard, while
Molly Danielson was able to pick up her eighth double-double for the Wildcats as she scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Counter part
Kory Oleson had a team high of 15 points while
Cameron Reuter added seven for the 'Cats.
Blues stats
Kaylie McCracken had a game high of 18 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double for the Blues. Two other Whitman players, Burdett and Stone were able to pick up double digits scoring 12 each. Whitman shot 44.3% from the field and 73.7% from the free throw line.
1st Half
The Blues won the opening tip and scored in their first possession. Linfield countered as
Cameron Reuter scored on a dribble drive. Half way through the first quarter Whitman went on a nine-point run before
Hanna Bingham went the distance of the floor and laid it in. At the buzzer
Molly Danielson drained a three cut Whitman's lead to 10.
Maggie Smith converted on a three-point play as she was fouled on a jumper. The Blues went on five-point run half way through the second quarter before
Jordyn Feinauer drained a long three. Reuter and Danielson converted on back-to-back possessions to cut Whitman's lead to nine with under three minutes left in the first half.
2nd Half
Whitman kept their momentum from the first half as they came out scoring on their opening possession.
Kory Oleson slowed the Blues momentum as she knocked down a jumper to cut down Whitman's lead half way through the third quarter. Reuter and
Morgan Croxford knocked down three of four free throws for the Wildcats late in third quarter. Reuter to Danielson for two to close out the third quarter. Linfield picked up the pace and went on a six-point run early in the fourth quarter cutting the Blues lead down. Whitman went on a six point-run midway through the fourth to pull way.

The Wildcats will be back in action in January 12
th as they host Whitworth at 4:00 p.m. in Ted Wilson. Fans make sure to wear white and participate in the WHITE OUT.
