Linfield shuts out Whitworth 2-0

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Wildcats were able to pick up their first Northwest Conference win at home against Whitworth. Sunday's win marked Linfield's first win over Whitworth since 2003. The Pirates had not lost to the Wildcats in 29 straight meetings, a string that includes four ties.

Linfield got on the board late in the first half when Dayton Farrow was able to take a rebound off of the deflected throw in by the Whitworth goalie in the 41st minute.

The 'Cats second goal came in the 66th minute of play when Malachi Stalberg took a pass from Isaias Flores and sent the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
